Name: Armada Age: 5 years Sex: Female Breed: Chesapeake Bay Retriever x Labrador Retriever
Height: 23" at the withers Weight: 63 lbs Physical Description: Armada has a moderately-dark brown coat which took up the Chesapeake's characteristic curl. As such, she can not possibly look as neat and trimmed as her smooth-coated brethren, especially given her penchant for being in and around water. Her eyes are pale green/yellow and round, her expression accentuated by an expressive brow and neatly-folded ears. She has a compact body with a somewhat large head, relatively, sturdy legs and a nondescript tail. Typical of a retriever, she does not have much of a waist to speak of, although she keeps what figure she can.
General Personality: Bold, thick-skinned, and somewhat brash, Armada is a woman who has seen too much and is no worse the wear for it. She has been made callous by her upbringing, but rather than falling into the defensiveness of sarcasm and distrust, she seems to approach the world with the joviality that only a dog who knows how much worse things could be can feel. Armada is never shy and always quick with a joke or retort, and though she does not go out of her way to be offensive she also refuses to censor herself based on present company. To put it succinctly, what you see is what you get.
However, like all ladies Armada is prone to jealousy, particularly against members of her own sex. She is more likely to take up the issue with a masculine flair than through manipulation, but that does not make her offense at fast-fading youth any less painful. What's more, she sees herself as being as exuberant and passionate as any of the younger dogs, so much that she will seek their company before that of beasts her own age.
Habits & Quirks: In addition to an explosive laugh, Armada tends to break into silly songs when bored or working.
Important Events in History: She was born 5 years ago to a mother which loved her children as well as a common dock rat could. The sire of the litter was a more-respected working dog, their tryst a distant memory by the time Armada and her siblings came into being. Thusly, she never met him, though that was never really a problem. Between her mother, siblings, and the half-dozen other waifs filling their bellies on abandoned by-catch, the bitch quickly learned to stick up for herself and- in a somewhat unconventional fashion- charm her way into the locals' hearts.
Unfortunately, the small town couldn't support its blossoming stray population, and Armada was among the first to be forcibly volunteered away. She followed the river against its flow and came, eventually, to Saratov. Despite minor periods of pseudo-settling down she found neither love nor a permanent home, which is just fine with her.
