General Conduct Around the site
.Respect; respect your staff (our jobs are to keep everything running smoothly, and that's much more difficult when you backsnit us), respect your fellow members (like them or not), and respect the concept of roleplaying, here and on other sites. Do unto others and all that. Members causing blatant problems will be approached privately, and firmly. In the Chatbox
.Please do not monopolize the cbox. It can be tempting to take a silly conversation and run with it, but if you notice other members attempting to join in do not elect to continuously ignore them.
.Please do not link to other roleplays in the cbox. If you wish for a site to get attention from us, see the board "For Guests". Theft
.Stealing- of images, characters, tables, posts, anything- is forbidden. If we find out you've stolen from another site, we will not let it slide: who is to say that you will not also steal from us?
Characters and Roleplay On Breeds and Wolves
.Wolves, coyotes, african wild dogs, and any other species of canine-like mammal are not permitted here. There are a great number of other sites allowing such creatures, and it is not something we are interested in at this time.
.That being said, you may have a character of up to 25% wolf content. This does not mean that they can have one parent which was a wolf, lest anyone get confused.
.We do not wish to ban any breeds from being roleplayed, although we reserve the right to do so if one breed becomes an overwhelming majority. Post Requirements and Restrictions
.Though we do not wish to encourage an atmosphere of elitism, some level of literacy is required. Each of your in-character posts must exceed 200 words in length. We will contact you if a post of yours is too short. If it becomes a chronic problem, and you show no interest in improvement, further action may be taken.
.Graphic, gratuitous sexual content is forbidden. There are specialty boards for that sort of thing, it has no place here.
.Obviously, powerplaying and godmodding are forbidden. If you do not understand either, please ask for an explanation. As with post length, frequent violations will warrant action.
.Proper spelling and grammar (AND CAPITALIZATION) are absolutely mandatory. Incorrect handling of the English language is not a 'personal style'. Don't worry, we won't jump down your throats for a simple misuse of "its", but do your best. Moving About
.Liquid time is allowed. Fighting
.Fights will be judged by staff when they have been informed that the thread is complete.
.The number of attacks and dodges used is completely up to those involved in the fight, although electing to never have your dog get hit may be grounds for defeat. Because it's lame.
.The results will be timely (or you can throw rocks at us!) and based on descriptive ability, creativity, depth of character, and proper use of language.
.Please do not throw a fit if you lose. Yes, judging is subjective but no, we aren't stupid or unfamiliar with how RP fights work. You can ask to be judged by another staff member if you must, though that rarely results in an overturned result.
Seasons, Packs, Reproduction Time Passage
.3 "real-life" weeks is equivalent to 1 in-character season. Or, approximately, 1 week = 1 month.
.If we forget to change the season, remind us! We're only human. Packs
.There are three 'territories', allowing for three packs. At this time, no more packs may be created. If you wish to form a group of dogs led by your character outside of a pack, it will be entirely unofficial.
.Each category (The City, The Slums, and Outskirts) represents a wide area of Saratov. Each of the three contains one board which serves as a pack's main territory or headquarters. However, they are active creatures and can hardly be expected to defend such a small area, let alone to be satisfied with it. Therefore, each of the three categories more or less belongs to one of the three packs. Thusly: There is no 'entirely safe' no-man's-land, just like in the real world. Challenges and Immunity
.A pack leader can be deposed by a challenge. This challenge takes place in the form of a thread, which in most cases will include a fight. The victor of the fight will win possession of the territory. They will also be granted temporary immunity from future challenges.
.Immunities last for 6 weeks, and will begin from the date that the results of the challenge are posted. During this time no official challenge may be mounted against the leader.
.In the event of a pack leader stepping down during his/her immunity (or in the event of their roleplayer going inactive), they may appoint a successor or let the land fall to their beta-ranked member. Their immunity does not re-set.
.If the roleplayer of a pack leader has not posted with that character for a period exceeding 3 weeks they are considered inactive and their leadership will be seized. Exceptions may be made for roleplayers indicating a necessary break in the appropriate board. Breeding and Whelping
.Females may become pregnant once per IC year. Breeding takes place in the Winter, and the puppies are delivered in Spring.
.You must complete a thread with your partner in which your characters at least agree to the reproductive act before your puppies will be delivered.
.You will be given images representing the offspring from your crossing. Respect these! We choose them carefully, and do not appreciate seeing black puppies grow up yellow, or whatever.
.Unless otherwise agreed upon, the roleplayer of the female gets first pick of the litter.
Graphics and The Shop Image Restrictions
.The use of copyrighted images from flickr, for manips or general stock/'sets', is absolutely forbidden. You will only be warned once. If you are going to use Flickr images, use only those not listed as "All Rights Reserved" or "No Derivative Works".
.If you find that an image you are using stretches the board, for the love of all things holy FIX IT.
.Do not use a picture of a wolf to represent your character. Your character is not a wolf. You'll be required to remove said images. And then we'll have our eye on you forever. Why even begin to go down this road? The Shop
.Items in The Shop may be purchased using experience points. You receive 12 experience points for every post in a roleplay board. You do not receive points for posting in out-of-character boards. It may be possible to earn more points through participation in contests or events.
.If you have a talent for making graphics, tables, etc, and are not feeling particularly charitable, you may 'sell' these wares in the Graphics board. Contact a staff member with the purchase agreement. And, please, don't be ridiculous with your prices. Earning Experience
.In addition to posing (12 points/post) in IC boards, you can get 200 experience for referring a friend! In order to redeem these points, you must tell us who you referred and the person in question must 1. join, 2. at least make the appearance of intending to stay and be active, 3. also tell us that you referred them.
.You can earn ? points per advertisement on another site, provided that you followed all directions (so the ad isn't removed) and we had not previously advertised there (because that is very rude).
.Watch for random events/contests!
